On a trip in 2018, I learned while visiting Jessup Cellars, that a benefit of being a club member is an in home tasting with family and friends. My friend, Randi and I jointly hosted a tasting in September of 2018. That tasting was so successful, we did it again this year.
We had approximately 30 people attend, it was a beautiful night to spend tasting wine and enjoying the patio and sunroom. Ellen came up from Chicago, she is a personal wine experience lead. She walked us through a leisurely tasting of six wines. We chose the 2018 Sauvignon Blanc, 2016 Pinot Noir, 2017 Zinfandel, 2016 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, 2015 Juel, 2016 Petite Sirah and I snuck in one from my cellar the 2015 Table for Four.
If you are a wine club member, ask your club if they offer this benefit. It was a minimum three case sale for the event, which both times we have hosted we have had no problem getting to the minimum. We did ask everyone to purchase one bottle in lieu of a tasting fee. This last tasting we had two couples join the wine club themselves.
